Marianne received her B.A. in Art from Reed College. For her thesis, she made a series of books containing drawings of every thing she owned. She also created several comprehensive cross-referencing systems. Her written thesis focused on the viability of conceptual art in a postmodern climate. Marianne currently works at Fine Communications, a small publishing house in New York. She is now a certified jack-of-all-trades in the publishing universe. She does editing and copy-editing work for Moxie and ROCKRGRL magazines, and some freelance work on the side. In her spare time, Marianne wanders around New York, sews cool aprons and embroiders anything she can get her hands on. Marianne's favorite project of late: drawing an illustration of Hell (to be included in Dante's Inferno, published by Barnes & Noble Classics in August 2003) Marianne's favorite movie of late: My Dinner With Andre (come on, it's the ultimate New York movie) Marianne's favorite book of late: Reinventing Comics, by Scott McCloud (see www.scottmccloud.com - he's a genius) Marianne's favorite album of late: Stardust
by Mr. Willie Nelson (Editor's Note:) She is in charge of finding all those typos and grammatical errors contributors send. She's going to need your well-wishes. Also, the homage to Andy Warhol was designed by Kim a la Photoshop filters-- any complaints should go to her-- it's not Marianne's fault. |
