The *REAL* Amazon bookstore?
The Amazon Bookstore in Minnesota has been around for thirty years and has been online for quite a few years as well. Again, not a zine really, but a place you should check out.

AsiangURLS
Great stuff for Asian women and men... an intelligent, well designed site with both fun and news. While it depresses me that they have to actually post the disclaimer "not a porn site," I wonder, curiouser and curiouser, what kind of e-mail inspired the post? And did the people sending the mail even bother to LOOK at the site?

Aviva
A political zine-- to quote their copy, they are "a FREE 'Webzine', being run by an International group of Feminists based in London [. . . ]providing a free listings service for women everywhere, funded by advertising, and sponsorship. " What is particularily interesting on this site is its international perspective.

Bust
You've heard of it, now go check it out. One of the earliest "girlie" third wave zines. This site is a "gateway" where you can subscribe to the paper version, or get the "Bust guide to the new girl order." Since there's very little "web" content, it's not really a great link, but you must check out the great layout and consider subscribing (if you have the attitude you think you have).

Cherry Sucker
Fiction, essays, poetry, reviews, great site design and a pick of the moment-- all sponsored by spacegirl. You can submit your work for consideration or read others'. Part of the "chickclick" network so it's kind of a "sassy" site.

ChicanaWriter.Com
This site looks like it's just getting started; and it does seem to need some writers. Check it out. A really worthwhile visit.

Cybergrrl
A media and entertainment company specializing in online content, resources, sites and communities for women and girls. Founded in January, 1995.

Disgruntled Housewife
Oh, boy, do I like this site. Great campy graphics, humor and "girlie" feminism. You must check it out.

Dyverse: Publications
A group of women based all over the U.K. who publish lesbian bisexual and transgender women writers. Their aim is to promote fresh young talent by publishing, providing hosting. As of June 2001, there are 34 poems, 19 erotic stories 16 short stories online
72 authors have submitted work since September 2000.

Evemag
An excellent site for and by teens (or anyone who's ever been one!)-- features poetry, "rants" (after my own heart) and articles on such subjects from driving "go carts" to a "power chick" discussion of strong women.

Female Detective
Ah, I'll never forget those days of devouring "who-dun-its" by the dozens. If you're into Detective books, authors, etc, check out this site, features include: "hundreds of reviews and mini-biographies ... complete book lists ... editor's choice of best novels ... and a whole lot more."

Feminist.Com
Links, women owned businesses, and a great advice column called Ask Amy.

Feminista
A journal of art, literature, social commentary, philosophy, wit, humor, and respect, and is currently published on the first of each month. This site looks interesting for both reading, and for possibly getting work published. Make a special visit to their list of 100 great works of art by women authors.

Girl Comic
The first webzine to expose the often-overlooked talent of female comedians. Putting an end to the myth that feminism isn't funny.

 Girl Zone
To quote the Girl Zone folks, who tell it best: "an amazing and talented team of women that share her vision that every girl is cool, that every girl has the right to FEEL cool. The webzine is based in Burlington, Vermont, but has staff from all over the United States and contributors from around the world. The team works incredibly well together crafting a site each month that reflects their shared commitment. Each member of our staff wishes that there had been something out there like Girl Zone for her when she was a girl. Girl Zone is a labor of true love, love of the hope that we can keep even one girl from losing that early confidence in herself, or help one girl grab it back!"

Do you remember the magazine from the late 1980's, Sassy? This website has a lot of the same kind of content. It has contests, chat, articles, polls, radio, poetry... the site design is part ultra comic-book-y part "barbie on acid." For girls of all ages.

Hear Her Voice
This is a wonderful site that features stories of "women in the migration process". It includes video/audio files, so you hear actual recordings and see images of the women as you learn their stories. An Australian site, from the Museum Victoria.

Latina Magazine Online
You have to subscribe for current content, but can look through some of the older stuff in the archives without a subscription...

Lawgirl
Legal tips on copyright, rants and musings about contemporary issues (and hunks o' the month), a mailing list, info on Trademarks, and a Q&A message board, as well as other stuff. A good looking site with lots of useful information.

Momwriters
To quote the site: "Trying to launch or keep your writing career alfloat amidst Barbies and Hot Wheels? Encouragement for Momwriters (Dads too!) is here. Tips for home office success amidst children, words of wisdom from those who have been there, and other general writing advice. " Check them out-- even if you're not a mom.

Moondance
A zine for poetry, fiction, essays, published by the Women Artists and Writers International, published quarterly: September, December, March and June. They have a listserv you can join. Kind of a more "spiritual" site-- sponsoring and encouraging "women's creativity."

Oxygen.Com
A great, slick, large network of women's sites, businesses, etc. The first network owned by women, a blend of Web sites and TV that's designed to serve women -- stuff from chat to entertainment to sports & fitness. Not really a "Zine," because it's a corporately sponsored site, but a great resource for women online. A little bit like a woman's magazine, but very much controlled by women's real interests, rather than just advertising dollars.

She-Net
A great site which is comprised mostly of a monthly e-zine and discussion boards. Articles and discussion cover a wide variety of topics, and the site is geared towards intelligent, open-minded women of all ages.

Slackgirls
This site is run by kerrin & bridget-- it mostly features entertainment information (band interviews and such) but also has some interactive sections, chat, and a zine (coming soon).

Smile and Act Nice
the modern phrase for "suffer and be silent"-- this zine is great-- pepto pink, with columns from "why I hate/love Monica Lewinsky" to girls' computer games to food to slumber parties. A real girl-fest.

Teen Voices Online
This site is a great alternative to consumer popular print magazines for teens. You can read articles on everything from race to curfews to beauty issues. You can also submit your work (if you're a teen). Check out a really good site.

Wench
A guide to the choices of the next millennium. Full of articles and essays, frank criticism, insightful commentary and a biting sense of humor, Wench charts the social and political terrain in which women live, and helps women and men alike understand where we all need to go. A great, glossy looking site, part of the Chickclick network.

Women's International Net
