Rebecca Wells' third book featuring the Ya-Ya Sisterhood is marvelously fun. Ya-Ya's In Bloom is lighthearted and fun, yet it ultimately misses the beat of previous two. Unfortunately, this book is not as good as its two predecessors. Although it tells the story of the Ya-Ya's, it introduces awkward characters, such as Mavis Spivey, who muck up the plot of this book. Wells' intention seems to make this book a mystery, which is where she loses her audience. It was a good attempt, but perhaps it is time to retire the story of the Ya-Ya's. |
