Women of Color, Women of Words
Site creator/ownwer Angela Weaver proclaims this wonderful site as: "dedicated to African American women who have gifted/shaken up/disturbed the theatre world with their powerful words." The site features a list of nine African American dramatists, which in turn will lead the browser to biographical and critical discussions of the authors' works, photos, and selected bibliographies and articles about the author. Wonderfully for academics, the site also features a list of dissertations that have been written on these authors.

Jewish Women's Voices: Past and Present, A Bibliography

A collection of short reviews and articles about several Latina women authors, as well as artists of a non-literary sort (such as Gloria Estefan).

A Celebration of Women Writers
Extensive collection of bios, E-texts, and bibliographies on hundreds of women writers from all eras and countries. Some of the information is very basic, but use this as a stepping stone.

Brown Women Writers' Project
A sophisticated database out of Brown University "creating a textbase of pre-Victorian women's writing in English." Currently has over 200 texts in its database-- HOWEVER, the database is now only available by "subscription"-- there is no more open access, so this site may be less useful for the casual browser.

19th Century Women Writers' Web
Well done site on Victorian women writers, includes bios, e-texts and links. Also includes scholarly information, syllabi, and other helpful resources.

African American Women Writers of the 19th Century
From the New York Public Library, a wonderful selection of works: poetry, fiction, essays. Includes information on the text, as well as the actual electronic editions of their works.

Young Girl Writers
This site is for young women to share experiences, tips, and advice on writing. L-O-V-E to read? You'll find tons of fun activities related to books and writing, a bulletin board, cool links, and more!

Kali for Women
India's first women's publishing house, is concerned primarily with publishing Third World studies on women. This site features links to other Third World women writers' sites, info on current publications. A great looking site, visually incredible and interesting.

Introduction to Chicana Literature
Also includes some literature by Chicanos. This site includes essays by students that can guide you to other places with more extensive collections of actual work by the individual authors.

Domestic Goddesses
Site about Victorian American writers: Louisa May Alcott, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Willa Cather, Edith Wharton, Sarah Orne Jewett, and Kate Chopin.

Voices from the Gaps
This collection features women writers who are of color, a great source for bio, criticism, photos, and general information about a number of top rate women writers.
